Who I am...
I am Kay Hodges aka The Village Goose. I make art pieces from vintage & antique letterpress and printer blocks. It is amazing to use this beautiful, old history to create one-of-a-kind heirlooms. Can I make one for you?
What I do....
I express my passion for wood type letterpress by creating collages, word groups & other art forms. The beautiful patinas, fonts & sizes help save this amazing history. I use orphan type & printer blocks making each one unique. I am blessed to work with this great medium.
Where I'll Be...
I am SO excited to share that after 2 long years without faires, I’ll be back at St. John’s School in Carmichael this year! It will be on Friday, December 1 from 4-9 p.m., Saturday from 9-5 & Sunday, from 9-3. I will be in the Vintage/Antique Classroom. I hope to see lots of awesome folks over the weekend❣️ I am taking custom orders and making appointments at my studio for choosing ready-made items or helping create a custom piece! You have plenty of time to take care of some Christmas gifts that they will never forget! Call or email me soon!

These printer blocks were used to illustrate or advertise produce many years ago. Most of the blocks are over 100 years old! It's amazing how these old blocks still work in our lives today!

I would like to thank all my wonderful customers who I consider "letterpress friends", my family and other friends for all the support and help when I've really needed it! I can't believe it’ a been 2 years since shows have been active. Last year I had a knee replacement, so 2021 was a recovery ❤️🩹 year! I look forward to an amazing 2022 in this wonderful letterpress journey.
